Road warrior. In a post-nuclear war world, Gibson plays Max, a lone adventurer who drives the roads of outback Australia in an endless search for gasoline. His opponents include Lord Humungus, and they battle over a tiny band of civilized survivors and their horde of fuel.
Mad Max beyond thunderdome. In a post-World War III Australia, Max (Gibson) is a good cop who uses drastic techniques to keep the peace when threatened with ravaging hordes of degenerates who are stealing the last cars and gasoline.
