Deep in the night, when Matthew paces the house, unable to sleep, he pauses outside his daughter's bedroom. Hallelujah, who goes by Holly, is only on the other side of the door, but feels a universe away. He worries about her, a young Cree woman, but cannot seem to bridge the gap between them. Claire claims things would be better if he looked up from his phone or showed up to watch her swim meets like he promised.
